About Me:

My name is Raye. I'm 20 years old and I'm a junior at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas where I am majoring in English and minoring in History. Originally, my minor was computer science, but it turned out not to be what I was really looking for. I'm interested in Web Design and the such, but I'll take some classes on that specifically later. English and history are my passions, so that's what I'm going to stick with.

I am all about the arts. Whether it's music, traditional art, digital art, photography, writing or any other art form, I am totally into it. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at it, lol. I mostly contain myself to honing my skills in writing and photography. I feel that those two mediums are the ones in which I can best express myself. All other art forms I just allow myself to sit back and enjoy.

My Philosophy (well, kinda):

I have a personal philosophy that people should hold onto their dreams, but keep a level head about them. You always need a Plan B. Hopefully, you will never need to use it, but it's always a good thing to have if Plan A falls through. Teaching is my Plan B. I want to write, but I know I need money to support my craft. This is why I am going through the certification track in English. When I looked into my job options, there wasn't much open for just a BA in English. One needs at least a Master's to get any kind of pay, so that's what I'm going for first. Then, I will work towards my PhD. However, I already owe over $11,000 in loans and don't wish to take out any more after graduation. So, I am going to use teaching as a means to fund my education. There is much more to this "personal philosophy", but you'll learn all of that should you choose to read through all this. XP

San Antonio, Texas at night. the night. the cold. snow. frost. powedered sugar over gingerbread cookies. my own insanity. stupid sayings. cliches. evil smiles. my eyes. how i seem to be able to express my opinion with a simple raise of an eyebrow. cursing. studying religions. girls. boys. tedious, mind-numbing work. excitement. the way i could live in a tiny apartment somewhere with little to nothing and be happy as long as I had my friends. aliens. the way it feels to cry after a really shitty week. cartoons. badly drawn cartoons. animation. piercings. watching my dog cozette stretch. playing with dog pepper's ears. penguins. fast cars. driving slow in the country. christmas lights. people who are fun to talk to. open-minded people. vampires. starseeds. werewolves. the occult. new age thinking. buddhism. the quirky things my friends say. the way people trust me. living like there is no tomorrow. la vie boheme.

Dislikes:

the heat. rap. talking in front of groups of people. people stealing my work. how fast time flies. sunlight. whiny people. annoying people. people who let other people walk all over them and then complain that people walk all over them. broken bones. allergies. being sick. missing class. boring professors. expensive textbooks. professors who choose expensive textbooks. roaches. people who lack a sense of humor. people who assume gossip to be true. tabloid magazines. sunlight. heat. that tingly feeling when your leg has fallen alseep and starts to "wake up".

What to Expect:

I can tell you right now to expect *a lot* of ranting. However, I will try to make it humorous and not whiny. :P You can also expect some studies on philosophers and the such and how they relate to our society, my views on their beliefs, etc. I can guarantee that part will be fairly interesting. There will also be the occasional entry of my daily events. Those shouldn't be too boring. My life is kinda cool. Every month, I will try to post an entry of updates as to what is going on in my life and the such. Hehe, I'm talking like someone is actually going to read all this crap. XP Anyway, I will also be posting some of my creative writings here. I'm taking Creative Writing I this semester, so I think I'll be having a lot to post in that category. :)

In Conclusion:

Well, that's just about it for now I guess. I'll try to keep active here, but I'm taking a lot of courses this semester, so it may be off to a slow start. Either way, though, I hope you enjoy yourself should you choose to check me out. And don't be afraid to comment, either. ^__^

Best Wishes,

Raye
